As per the Cosmetic Surgery National Data Bank, there has been a 325% increase in the number of cosmetic surgeries being performed on men since 1997. In the year 2015 alone, around 1.2 million cosmetic surgeries have been done on men. As per the best plastic surgeon, men want cosmetic surgery to look good and stay competitive in the job market. 1. Male Breast Reduction 
   
   
   Men too can have breast surgery and last year about 30,464 men has breast reduction surgery for treating Gynecomastia- overdevelopment of the male breast. Excess tissue in the breast will be removed using liposuction or by excision or a combination of both and the nipple may need to be repositioned. Rhinoplasty doesn’t need the patient to stay overnight. The condition of the patient is considered to determine the type of anesthesia to be used- local or general anesthesia. The surgeon will cut within the nostrils and make cuts across the base of the nose and the inner bone and cartilage will be reshaped. Post surgery, you will wear a nasal splint for a week and experience some swelling and bruising near the eyes which will start to settle after third day. 

3. Eyelid Surgery
   The eyelid surgeries or eye lifts will get rid of the excess skin from the upper eyelids and minimize the bagginess from the lower eyelids. This surgery done for cosmetic reasons will help improve the eyesight for older people with sagging eyelids. Last year, 30,696 men had underwent the eyelid surgery. Often the surgeon will begin by cutting the natural lines of the eyelids and separate the skin from the underlying tissue. They will remove extra fat, muscle and skin and then cuts are closed with the small stitches. The upper lid stitches have to stay for three to six days while the lower lids will need no stitches. All in all, the eyelid surgery will take about two hours for both the upper and lower eyelids and uses local anesthesia. Post surgery, the eyelids look normal after a week or two.

It is one of the more invasive sides of cosmetic surgeries needing sedation. The surgeon will decide the best type for each person. During the traditional facelift, a cut is made in the temples by the hairline which extends around the ears and end in the lower scalp. Then the fat is redistributed from the neck, face and repositions the underlying tissue and lifts the deeper layers of the face and muscles. The skin is put back over the uplifted contours and extra skin is trimmed. After the incision heals fully, swelling and bruising settle and scars are hidden within hairline thereby make your face look more youthful.

5. Liposuction

Liposuction is the number one cosmetic surgery for men with approximately 51,370 men having done it. During this procedure, fat from a certain area of the body is removed via suction. The thin, blunt tipped tubes called cannulas are inserted through small incisions in the skin which will suction out the fat in fat deposits under the skin as the doctor moves the tubes around. You’ll need to stay overnight and the recovery time is dependent on the amount of fat removed. Typically, you can return to normal activities within several days and can take up to a few weeks post this procedure.
